Show Synopsis

Venue selection is not guaranteed. If your show has a specific need for a venue, please outline in the synopsis section.

Run Times for a production must be at least 15 min and no longer than 90 min.

Run Time is from the beginning of your performance (immediately after The Z’s recorded curtain speech) until the end of bows, audience talk-back, or post-show announcements (if you choose to do them).

The time you select will be the maximum run time permitted for your performance. This cannot be lengthened after submission. Give yourself grace and space!

Backstage Time (in minutes)

Backstage Time is your access to the performance space and dressing room, outside of the Run Time. It includes your time to set up, get into/out of costumes and makeup and strike to a clear stage. House will open 5 minutes before your scheduled show start time.

The time you select will be the maximum backstage time permitted for your performance. Productions selected in the lottery may revise their backstage time only if reducing their time, when signing their agreement.

Tech Time is your access to the performance space for load-in, cuing, and technical rehearsal with Z technicians.

Shows are allotted a base amount of Tech Time, based on their Run Time. Productions may add to their Tech Time for an associated production fee increase.

Productions selected in the lottery may revise their Tech Time when signing their agreement.

The Z has 2 dressing rooms each with a max capacity of 10 people. 1 dressing room will be available for each production. To help maximize access to dressing room space, please indicate if you are comfortable sharing the dressing room:
